WHAT’S HAPPENING AT MANLY LSC – FRIDAY 23RD DECEMBER 2022
Friday 16th December 2022
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and their families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and thank you for being a member of the Manly LSC family for another year.
PATROL
This weekend the sun is due to shine for a spectacular Christmas weekend. Numbers on patrol are looking thin, and we encourage all members, if you can spare some time even if a small amount of time, to please come down and help keep our beach safe this Christmas.
Christmas-New Year patrols – the club has arranged for yummy Christmas delights to be provided to patrolling members.
A reminder that if you are intending to compete at Branch State and Aussies this season that you need to ensure you have enough patrol hours by the 31st December. This season the required hours is 15, and these will have been completed between the 1st January and 31st December 2022. Next season the hours will revert back to pre-covid hours with 25 hours needed between the 1st January and 31st December 2023.
You can see your current hours in your sls members portal dashboard.

MLSC CHRISTMAS SWIM
A long tradition of the club is the Christmas Day swim. We welcome all members and their families to us on the ramp at 10am to register and then participate in the swim.
We are taking donations for “present” actions after the swim. Please bring your present wrapped and marked adult or child (silly presents are encouraged)
PROFICIENCY -WEDNESDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2022
After some arm twisting, the President and our trainers are holding an absolutely final proficiency for 2022 on Wednesday 28th December at 8:15am at the club. The online component must be completed before attending. Registration will be on Facebook shortly.
KELLOGS NUTRI GRAIN – HUGE SUCCESS
Rounds 1 and 2 of the Kellogs Nutri Grain iron series was held on Manly Beach last weekend and while the weather was not the nicest the crowds still came in droves to watch the fast and furious racing. SLSA were very impressed with the support of the club and its members to their event, and are keen to return to Manly LSC next season.
Thank you to all that helped!
BUSY COUPLE OF MONTHS AHEAD – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The next couple of months are going to be busy and we are asking all members to please raise your hand and volunteer at our 3 big events for the year – Nipper Nats, Summer of Surf Manly, and Cole Classic. There are multiple ways you can assist.
There are going to be excellent prizes up for grabs for all those that sign up – including a weekend away to the Hunter Valley (donated by the president) driving a G Brothers Mercedes (courtesy of new sponsor G Brothers), merchandising vouchers and Wharf Bar gift vouchers. More information to follow, so stay tuned!
To begin, below is the link to register for the Cole Classic. There is a role for everyone, so don’t hold back.
