What’s happening at Manly LSC – Monday 30th Jan 2023

Wow what a busy few weeks it has been for Manly LSC. Nipper Nats was a huge success with around 800 nippers enjoying a full program of competition. Last weekend we saw 1000+ competitors from all across the country. Friday was the Open ironman and ironwoman heats. The surf was up and the racing was top notch! Unfortunately on Saturday the sea life had other ideas on how the day was going to pan out, and the carnival had to be cancelled due to the competitors safety being the number one priority. Thank you to each and every volunteer that helped make the carnival a success. Even with no racing being held on the Saturday the reports were all glowing for event location and management.

We now have a webpage dedicated to news and updates about the club rebuild. Updates will be posted regularly.

We congratulate Chris Kinsella on joining the Building Committee.

We have asked Northern Beaches Council to arrange an on-site meeting for club members and the architects, Terrior, in February as part of the preparation of the first Concept Plans due in Q2 this year. Stay tuned for the date.

Huge congratulations to Life Member, Cameron Coghlan and his team for winning the Northern Beaches Council Community Event of the Year for the Night at the Barracks concert series. I know that so manly club members worked with Cam to deliver the sensational Manly event.

Well done everyone.

Over the weekend the opens, masters and nipper water competitors competed in the Branch Championships held at Collaroy SLSC. After winning the overall Branch Championship last season, we are hoping to be able to go back to back. Current Point score standing are:

The championships continue this weekend with the Beach and Life Saving Events. Go Manly!
