WHAT’S HAPPENING AT MANLY LSC – FRIDAY 23RD JUNE 2023
MANLY LSC NEW OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
We have taken a break from the newsletter while we recruited our new Office Administrator. I am excited to announce that Georgia Singleton, has taken on the role of Office Administrator at Manly Life Saving Club. This is the next step in Georgia’s journey which began when she joined us as a Nipper when she was only 10! Since then, she has showcased her incredible talents as one of the top female ironwomen competitors at Manly, representing the club in SLS state teams, earning medals at both state and national competition. This year she will continue to race for Manly in her third year of the Opens competition.

Her responsibilities will include a wide range of tasks, including administrative duties, managing the club’s reception, and serving as the first point of contact for clients and customers, whether in person or over the phone.
Georgia will be available in the office from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. For any inquiries, please contact Admin@manlylsc.com or call (02) 9977 2742.

This year, for the first time, the Club’s Annual Report’s will be in a digital format. The cost of producing a hard copy Annual Report exceeds $4k and for the past season many have been left over and sent for recycling. We propose to print a small number of copies for members who may not have access to a digital device.

CLUB REBUILD – MEETING WITH THE ARCHITECTS AND COUNCIL
On 25th of May 2023 members had the opportunity to meet with Northern Beaches Council and their appointed architects, Terroir, to discuss the redevelopment of the Club. More than 50 members attended the meeting, and the feedback was positive.
The Club continues to seek additional funding for the re-build and has been engaging regularly with the new Labor government about the funding shortfall. The President is due to meet with the Emergency Services Minister, Jihad Dibb, before the end of June 2023.
Considering the funding shortfall, the Club is proposing to enter a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with the Council to use our ‘best efforts’ to raise up to $4M. A qualified fundraising team will be created to support this major financial target.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW SENIOR HEAD COACH – SCOTTY THOMSON
Manly Life Saving Club is thrilled to announce Scotty Thomson will be joining our team as Head Coach for the next three seasons (at least!)
