Wow we are already in December, what a season it has been already. With another sunny weekend expected, the beach and its surrounds are sure to be busy, so if you can spare some time over the weekend to help out your fellow clubbies on patrol, please do so and keep our beach safe for another weekend!

Last weekend Manly LSC was visited by a group of young leaders and their supervisors from Torquay SLSC. They were here to experience patrol in Sydney. We hope that they enjoyed the experience and they have welcomed anyone from Manly to visit them and experience their patrol life at Torquay.

MANLY MERCHANDISE SHOP
Our shop which is open on a Saturday 9:15am -1:30pm and a Sunday 8:00am – 1:30pm is the ideal place to buy friends and family a gift for Christmas. Manly LSC swimmers, and the latest Kozii gear, bags, shirts, jackets, caps, towels, and a great range of Speedo goggles, Azur water wear and Local Supply sunnies.

RE-DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY CONSULTATION DAY
On Sunday 10th December the Council will be holding a community consultation day regarding the re-devlopment. We encourage members to pop in and have a look. It will be out the front of the club from 11am-1pm
SURF SPORTS
SUMMER OF SURF
This weekend sees the first major round of the Summer of Surf taking place on the Sunshine Coast at Alexandra Headlands. Good Luck to Ella Garrett, Tilla Garrett, Georgia Singleton, Sophie Walters, Alicia Fay, Eryn Ronge-Smith, Kendrick Louis, Hayden Cotter, Wesley Gould, Angus MacPhail, Lachlan Bruce, Ryan Singleton, Oscar Jones, Oli Signorini, and Keaten Ronge-Smith that are travelling up there to compete and we look forward to watching the finals package on 7plus from 2pm AEST on Saturday afternoon.
PARTNERSHIP WITH G BROTHERS MERCEDES BENZ
We are proud to announce that Manly LSC has partnered with G Brothers Mercedes-Benz at Mona Vale. On Wednesday the club received a brand new Mercedes-Benz Vito van that has been kindly supplied to the club, to assist in transporting craft to events. It has had its first drive this week as it towed the trailer to the Sunshine Coast for Summer of Surf.

INTERBRANCH
The NSW Interbranch Championships are being held on the Central Coast this weekend. We wish Henry Whitehead, Hannah Huisman, Jessica Oakhill, Luka Gordan, Elisha Cuthbert, Nicholas Stacker, Phoebe Lechner, Rachel Kember and Cooper Robinson the best of luck!
BOATS @ MANLY ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON
Did you know that the history of surf boats is intrinsically linked to the Manly LSC?
Lifesavers at Manly Beach were the first to adopt and adapted double ended ships boat as a rescue craft as early as 1895 – the very first surf boat.
In 1908, Manly LSC was the first club to host an official surf boat race.
1911 saw a Manly LSC member re-design these boats into the more familiar shape we see today.
The club also played host to generations of the Clymer family who were responsible for the modernising this most majestic of surf craft.
We are rebuilding a dedicated, passionate core of seasoned boaties who want to ensure this storied history continues.
Treat this as a teaser for anyone wishing to get newly involved with, or return to, the premier surf sport at the carnival.

KELLOGS NUTRI GRAIN SERIES AT MANLY
In just over 2 weeks (17-18 December) Manly is hosting the next round of the Kellogs Nutrigrain series. All of your favourite athletes including our own Kendrick Louis and former Manly members Naomi Scott and Emily Doyle will be competing. Watch out for details of a Nipper event on Friday 16th December at 4pm where there will be an opportunity for Manly Nippers to meet and train with their Nutri Grain idols!
Thank you to those members, who have already volunteered to assist the event as officials, BBQ, IRB, and First Aid. To be able to hold events of this size takes an army to hold a successful event and we as a Club always come together to achieve this goal.
COLE CLASSIC
No doubt you have seen the fabulous posters at the club announcing the Cole Classic 2023!
With multiple distance options, why not make this your time to give it a go, or this year try the next level. Entries are now open at www.coleclassic.com.au
This event is a key fundraiser for the club and we look forward to your support as volunteers to continue the race’s success. Put the date in your diary – Sunday 5th February 2023!
